A friend sent this to me and I decided to put it on my website.  In the next few months I will be redoing my site.

Could  this be an idea whose time has come?

Warren  Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers

one of the  best  quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I  could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just
pass a law  that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than 3% of GDP, all  sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election
.

The  26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3  months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it.  That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,
cell phones, etc.

Of  the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less  to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.

Warren  Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of  twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do  likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America  will
have the message. This is one idea that really should be  passed
around.

Congressional  Reform Act of 2011

1. No  Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in  office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in  Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move  to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow  into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with  the
American people. It may not be used for any other  purpose.

3.  Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans  do.

4.  Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will  rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5.  Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the  same health care system as the American people.

6.  Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American  people.

7.  All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective  1/1/12. The American people did not  make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress  made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor,  not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours  should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each  person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three  days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive
the message. Don't you think  it's time?

THIS  IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

If  you agree, pass it on.

Fort Worth Not so Hot!

March 25, 2011

Well, we went to Fort Worth hoping to win one of four majors.  We took three 3rd places and one second place.  However, we had great fun with professional handler Monica and New Jersey Rick!  I also learned more about grooming and handling.  Rudy slept all the way home.

Rudy Wins His First Major!

May 9, 2010

Rudy won his first major Irish Setter competition.  We have worked hard to get both of us in shape to know how to groom, practice, not be nervous and so much more.  Rudy is a special creature,  friend, and companion.  There have been so many who have helped us along the way.  Thank you to Jeanne Brodersen and the wonderful Irish Setter Club of Central Oklahoma.  Special thanks to Niki Slobin for teaching me how to groom.  Thank you to all the wonderful people from Texas and the support you have given both Rudy and I. Thank you to Deborah Boyd who judged the competition and honoring Rudy with the award.

This website was started as a result of Debbie's battle with cancer. Debbie will always be a part of our lives and will never be forgotten.  We loved her and always will, but life goes on.  I have moved much of the information about Debbie to her own page on the site for anyone who would like to look back and learn more about a wonderful woman and her fight with cancer.  You may follow the link to the left to go to this portion of the site.

The Battle with Cancer

Cancer is a terrible, terrible disease.  Debbie died as a result of cancer and I am now fighting my own battle with the same. My father always taught me in the appraisal business to drive by a property one way and then turn around and drive by the other way because you'll probably see it in a different light.  This is so true when it comes to cancer also.  If I could give anyone one piece of advice it would be to get as many opinions as necessary to get to the point where you feel comfortable.  I got four different opinions from doctors here in Tulsa and finally went to Houston where I will have treatment.

I would also advise anyone with cancer to arm yourself with knowledge.  Knowledge will give you comfort and the ability to make wise decisions whether it be with your own cancer or the cancer of a loved one. You may click the link below to see what's going on related to my own battle with cancer.

Family Update

New Puppies on the Way

I new litter of puppies was born approximately 4 weeks ago northwest of Chicago, Illinois. I have been thinking some time about getting a buddy for Rudy so I guess we will do so.  There were nine puppies born, I think five girls and four boys.  They must be a minimum of 12 weeks old before they can leave.  Anna, the breeder here in Tulsa, will be going to Chicago to see the puppies in a few weeks.  She will be picking out a male puppy for me.

I keep our family diary. Read our  Daily Diary here.
