Margaux and I at The Bag Lady Luncheon
Margaux's first fundraiser for the American Cancer Society was a huge
success. The event was sold out well in advance with approximately 200
people attending. The event was held at the Junior League
headquarters. Local stores and businesses donated handbags and various
other items to be bid on a silent auction. There were also a number of
corporate sponsors who bought tables for the event. The event netted
$23,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Debbie
is Honored by Carnegie Elementary
Debbie was honored on Friday April 21, 2006 by the Carnegie Elementary School for her volunteerism at the school. She started the Pizza Bingo Night and Silent Auction which continues to raise money for the school. We were presented with a Dogwood tree which will be planted near the entrance to the school. Debbie always got down on a child's level, made them feel loved, and validated them. Many of the teachers came up to us and visited. It was an honor to see Debbie honored by Carnegie Elementary.
